I Love Football

Big day today. Aberdeen play Hibs and both are challenging for second place in the league.
Only a few games to go to decide things.

@thatscottishguy Yes, Aberdeen won well yesterday. Hibs? 3-0 up and then 5-3 down? Weird. If only Aberdeen had even two thirds the funding that Celtic had, we would be champions without question. Thank you for the congratulations!
thatscottishguy26-30, M
If they had the funding and spent it on the right players. Not bottle merchants like they have now. Also cowardly little rats who make Tavernier look like a world class full back.
helensusanswift26-30, F
@thatscottishguy So the bottle merchants beat the mighty Celtic after drawing with Rangers. Not bad.
thatscottishguy26-30, M
Beat Celtic for the first time in ages. Drew with Rangers when they should have won. Last few years could have challenged us but fell apart after the split. 3-0 Motherwell in the semi final. They beat a team with an eye on the next game. It is an achievement but hardly shows they have bottle.
thatscottishguy26-30, M
The most impressive thing they've managed to do in recent times was get a player pretty much blackballed for racism with absolutely no evidence馃槀

@thatscottishguy coming second to a team with a massive budget, again, becoming the first Scottish team to win at Celtic Park for three years - well done the Dons. Keep it up, split the Glasgow bigotted monopoly and show that a real Scottish team can still achieve success. The majority of Scottish football supporters will be cheering on Motherwell next weekend.
thatscottishguy26-30, M
Still does not show evidence of bottle. Done well to be 2nd but for a couple of seasons the done well then fell apart post-split. Maybe I'm harsh on the players. McInnes playing that big Cosgrove idiot against the big sides. No Adam Rooney or Stevie May. Maybe it's him. "A real Scottish team"? Having money makes us not a real Scottish team? That majority of Scottish football supporters should cheer for Motherwell so it's not just us making an atmosphere for once 馃槀.
helensusanswift26-30, F
@thatscottishguy Nah, nothing to do with money. It's the Irish flags and Irish songs that sticks in the craw.
thatscottishguy26-30, M
Can't understand why it would bother anyone who isn't a hun.
helensusanswift26-30, F
@thatscottishguy It's a foreign flag. It belongs to a foreign country. If Celtic wants to be taken as a Scottish team - as they should be - why have allegiance to a foreign country?
thatscottishguy26-30, M
Because it's part of our history? Because it winds up the huns? Because we fly flags for people who have been oppressed? I don't see how it matters. Most of the Scots in the crowd still consider themselves Scottish and there is a large amount of Irish that come over for the games.
helensusanswift26-30, F
@thatscottishguy It's part of Hibs history too, and Dundee United and they don't fly foreign flags. Do Celtic still categorise themselves by winding up Rangers fans? Surely they are past all that 'downtrodden immigrant' nonsense now. Scottish Highlanders were equally oppressed and don't go greeting about it. I am glad that the majority of Celtic fans think of themselves as Scots though. I wish they would show it by wearing Scottish flags (as you do! :-)).
thatscottishguy26-30, M
There's normally at least one saltire at Celtic park. We just have a love for Ireland. Just like others love being walked all over by another nation. Winding up the huns will never get old馃槀.
helensusanswift26-30, F
@thatscottishguy oh, winding up the huns with their union flags and god save the queens is always good. I have absolutely no quarrel with that. Affection for Ireland does no harm, although supporting the IRA is obscene.
thatscottishguy26-30, M
I like the early incranation of the IRA when they were actually helping the people of Ireland. Also the songs are catchy.
helensusanswift26-30, F
@thatscottishguy The later incarnation were murderers and thugs. Supporting them is a bit like cheering on Isis. Nothing to do with Scotland or Scottish football. I agree that the songs are catchy though! I wish Aberdeen had some decent songs. 'The Muckin o Geordie's Byre' just won't do. :-)
