USA / FIFA Question

So there are three "host counties" this year, Mexico, Canada and USA, and 12 groups listed from A to L.

Mexico is in Group A

Canada is in Group B

Then USA, for some reason in group D...

Why are they in group D and not C?

Is this one of those situations where Donald wanted things named after him again, and demanded the D for Donald group?

I assume there is a better reason. But is there?

d stands for.... 🤔
@beermeplease
Donald the dysfunctional dimwit?
@beermeplease I just assumed there was some bracketing reasons for it, like with the NCAA college basketball tournament they put the four best teams on opposite corners.

Not that the host countries are the best... but I thought maybe they spread them out so they don't play each other in the early rounds or something, and they did by putting them in different groups...

But I thought they would be in different parts, not all just A, B and C ... but it wasn't C, it was D, why?

Also, I was thinking maybe they would put America in Group A and Canadia in Group C, but nope.

Just trying to get the logic...

I have heard (no idea if true) they try to put the host country in a bit of an easier bracket so they advance past the first round, hopefully.
YOU do know who controls the FIFA !

@ShenaniganFoodie honestly no idea about who controls them, other than money hungry people, but that did give a bs peace award to a guy that started a war
