@Burnley123 I wish you luck. I don't think our men's team is up to the task. Our commercial league is heavy on South of the Border, Europe and Africa players.

@Northwest Ours has players from across the seven seas. It raises the bar though. The real market for a national team is not the strength of a domestic league but how many players you have competing in a top one.

I know that the US men finished third in qualifying behind Mexico and an over-achieving Canada. An England team on form would lay waste to this group but the form is awful.

England recently got relegated from the top twelve if the European nations league. They seem to be affected by the heartbreak of the penalty loss in the Euro championship final and perhaps Southgate is at the end of his sell by date.

It depends which England turns up. If (big if) we find our true level then we will go deep into the World Cup because we have the talent and the recent tpurnekent pedigree. I would also not be too shocked by a first round elimination because that always happens to one of the big boys.

@Burnley123 As luck, and an international bribery scandal, would have it, the opening week is pretty much a holiday week in the US (Thanksgiving), so we will all have a chance to replace the traditional post turkey football, with soccer.

@SW-User It's OK, we're not expected to do well. Our women's team usually kicks ass, and I'm a huge fan.
