What I dont get is why France thinks it the world authority on all these sports that have no connection to France.

Soccer=England
Baseball= USA
Hockey=Canada
Etc.

All these sports not from France but France thinks it has international authority on.

@Elessar yes forms of football in a loose sense existed in multiple places simultaneously.

Association football( soccer) as we know it is an English game.
