Who's enjoying the world cup so far?

I'm a big football fan so I've been watching quite a few games, there's been some really good games and some really poor ones too - Belgium have been terrible so far and England very hit & miss in their first two games, also disapointed with Wales - I thought they'd do better.
I've been following the World Cup since Mexico 1970 and this is the first time I'm not fully enjoying it.
Argentina, Poland, Wales , Croatia & Portugal are built around one "star" , no matter how good he may or may not still be.
The Belgian squad is too old to be good anymore.
I enjoyed watching the USA team. England have a solid team but I don't think they'll get beyond the quarter finals .
Spain were ok. Germany & Holland disappointing.
My guess is a Brazil Vs France final.
But again , the ball is round and anything can happen!

@BridgeOvertroubledWaters Wow - thats a long time!!!! It'll be interesting to see who progresses in the knock out rounds!

Yes hopefully it will get better but spending to much time watching !! Bet the none football fans are not happy,, World Cup on one station 4 times a day and FA cup 2nd round on another

Haven't watched any of it. I'm not into soccer and I don't care who wins. But I watched three NFL games today - real football with actual scoring. But why do they allow games to end in draws? Why don't they play overtime until someone scores, like in ice hockey?

@RedBaron Different sports attract different sorts of fans, you look at the number of people either attending or watching the world cup - there's a lot of people! The African teams are certainly gaining some neutral fans - they're really entertaining, Senegal & Cameroon games have loads of goals and crazy moments!
I know this post is 6 months old but loved the world cup

@Sojournersoul who were you supporting? I was kinda rooting for Croatia - I said at the start they’d be a good team, and they did really well.
@Chrisy3 I was supporting the USA team. Croatia was very good.

I enjoyed and pissed at the same time.
Top team really messed up this year. I am suprised US able to tie England but I am disappointed Germany is losing their track. They looked no longer sharp like before.

@England66 Too right - and I think the Wales fans would prefer that they go out whilst having a really good go, rather than limping out because they're too scared to try and attack!

@Chrisy3 i think wales will have a go because its England they dont want to lose to them my dad was Welsh and i was born in london

@Chrisy3 Personally, they need leader to lead. Neuer can't lead if he is on the keeper side while Müller has potential to lead them like previous match (I cannot remember maybe 2014 ) against Portugal where Portugal OG twice because of their amazing offense. It was best performance I've seen so far.

US lack of experience like Korea and Japan (even though they play WC long time but never met any team above par of their own league).
With little good offense and good teamwork they can make it.

Can't rely 100% striker to score. Need teamwork to pass and to goal.

i enjoyed croatia destroying canada yesterday. the 3 teams i support are italy, denmark and croatia.
Chrisy3 · 18-21, F
@Jungleman Bless - poor Canada - I give them a big thumbs up, because yes, they're not a great side, but they didn't half give it a good go didn't they - they played with some good tempo, had some shots, committed players forward. Croatia for me are one of the best sides in the tournament, I think they're awesome - and Modric just oozes class! I think he's possibly the best player in the tournament - I'll be very much watching Croatia purely because I think they're awesome to watch.

Didn't realise Roundball was a Bat and Ball game. But then again never watched one.

@Chrisy3 Love the Tiliqua rugosa in your profile pic. Does that indicate your country?
Chrisy3 · 18-21, F
@KiwiBird Yeah I'm originally from the UK, but I now like in Australia with my parents ☺️

@Chrisy3 Those shinglebacks actually mate for life. Often travel in pairs, heartbreaking to see one run over. Have them on my block here.
revenant · F
I kind of am although I am mainly watching highlights.

@Darksideinthenight2 Yeah it's difficult to imagine someone successfully justifying having the world cup in Qatar! 🤔
