I've had concerns about symptoms for a while now due to smoking. She didn't want to look into it. She said "You've only been smoking 20 years, you don't have cancer"
Find yourself an internal medicine doctor and let them get you looked at. That includes a referral to a pulmonologist for chest X-rays and probably a stress test with a cardiologist. COPD or a blocked coronary artery is no joke. Finding a way to quit the most addictive habit that will destroy your health isn't easy. I know several that used acupuncturists to help them lose their cravings. Good luck.
A lot of what doctors tell you convince your subconscious of certain things. If she tells you not to worry, then your body will keep fighting it off, but if she checks and there is a lump or something you may swing the other way. Positive thinking is important.
Well i don't know if your knows it or not but people who have never smoked get cancer. Theres more causes than smoking, i think you should check into it if you're suspicious something isn't right
your primary care physican can't look into it. Your doc can' recommend you see a specialits For instance if it was a breathing issue you complained about recommending a pulmonologists.
what kind of cancer do you think you have and what is stopping you from seeing a specalists in that field?
I didn't necessarily tell her I thought I had cancer, but maybe copd. I mean who knows, there could be cancer starting somewhere. I've also had sensations in my esophagus
There are tons of issues that can result from smoking not the least of which is the destruction of the alveolar-capillary membrane which transfers oxygen from the lungs into the blood stream. Once this is damaged even if you quit smoking it is not self repairing.
Eventually the lack of oxygen in the blood will cause a form of suffocation to your entire body and you will be gasping for air.
Stop smoking immediately and go see a real doctor, a Doctor of Naturapathic Medicine. No, I am not kidding!
lots of lifelong smokers never get cancer and lot's of people who've never smoked do get cancer
contrary to what "science" and mass media would have everyone believe, it's more a culmination of circumstances rather than any one thing (lifestyle, diet, etc.)
I did, and I'm going to him in a few days. She also declined my request for something to help me quit smoking. She made up every excuse and told me I wasn't ready.
@Moneyonmymind i am your boat / as a non smoker i cannot relate but I feel empathy at the trap they built for themselves, many of them building that trap before the age of 17 when they knew so little about their future selves as smokers.
When I was younger I never had the urge to even try a cigarette until I was 27. That's when I started smoking. Yeah, like a lot of smokers, I wish I never started
