Is anyone else trying to quit smoking for the new year?

I’m planning on attempting to quit again as my New Year’s resolution, but I’m pretty nervous 😬

Don't quit cold turkey.
Your body and mind are linked to a drug dependency.

Quitting anything cold turkey affects your body and mind in a different way. Its not a clean break, because whatever you quit this way will just be replaced by another dependency.

Work out the number of Cigarettes you smoke in a day.
Keep that exact number in one place.
As you smoke leave a slightly longer stub than you normally do and leave them in the ashtray.
This way you can see your 'progress'...or not as you go.

Same is true for any habit.
Booze; chocolate; weed; sugar; etc.
You're no going to accomplish it in a week, it will take time to ween your body's need off the substance You're addicted to.
@Picklebobble2 i quit smoking cold turkey just fine...i was a minimum 1 pack a day smoker...2 on the weekends sometimes...i tried weening myself off but that never worked. it was all or nothing...quit 15 years ago and have never even had a drag

@beermeplease Maybe so but what did you replace your addiction with ?
@Picklebobble2 nothing...maybe ate more junk food and gained 40 pounds...but quickly got my act together and lost it. i've always been a drinker and i didn't drink any more...i'm a weed smoker maybe 1 or 2 times a week. if i never smoked weed again i'd be ok with it. i like my weekend drinks...
