Is anyone else trying to quit smoking for the new year?

I’m planning on attempting to quit again as my New Year’s resolution, but I’m pretty nervous 😬

I can give you some advice on this, because I went to a smoking cessation class. So first thing you want to do is, mark on your calendar what your quit date will be. See if you can find support groups as well. Now, there's a bunch of things you can use to aid you in quitting. There's a 2 and 4mg lozenge. Gum, patch, and Chantix. These are your quit aids.

When I quit smoking, I received a months worth of the 2mg lozenge for free since it was the class so that something you'd have to pay for, unless you happen to find a smoking cessation class. So then all you gotta do from there is follow the instructions for the quit aid you choose to use. As an example, so on the quit date you stop smoking cigarettes 100%. Now, when I got the 2mg lozenge the first week, anytime you get a craving to smoke, pop in a lozenge for 10 minutes.

Because I would go out on the front porch to smoke, I would go outside, pop in the lozenge for 10 minutes, as if I'd smoked a cigarette and then go back in. That still wasn't at 100% working. So I took a piece of paper and rolled up a tube, so that I could have the action as if I was still smoking, even though I wasn't. But I was able to trick my brain, while doing the lozenge. The second week of not smoking, do the morning lozenge but try to skip the next craving, next craving after that, okay do a lozenge. Third week, try to skip morning craving and the next, third craving do a lozenge. By the end of the third week I had found myself no longer needing the lozenges and I had successfully quit smoking.

I don't vape or smoke anything. 100% smoke free since March 24th 2015. That was my quit date. You can do it!!

UPDATE: Also, one thing you want to do is, stay away from social interactions where you go to smoke. So say you go to the bar friday nights and have a few smokes. Or wherever it is you might go to have a smoke, you have to change those routines because being in those places, could cause you to want to unconsciously light up. That was another tip from the instructor.
@twiigss awesome... i quit because of shear will power...that is the most important tool whether getting outside help or quitting cold turkey as i did... i was surprised i was able to do it... i was addicted to those things so bad. i would smoke while i shaved... i even smoked in the shower when getting ready for going clubbing...lol yes it can be done...i found a way🤣 ....

@kylee1992 You're very welcome! I will help out anyone on this matter where I can because I went through this and the instructor in the class, his first words were, it is so easy to quit, you just have to know how. And all that information I gave ya there, is the basic run down. So I hope it helps :)
