Cannabis can make you hallucinate!
I'm investigating a MUFON case where a 35 year old male that admits to using weed and has a history of being physically abused and foster care is having significant audible and visual experiences.
He is not currently on any other medications. His mother had a mental health condition.
Cannabis can make you hallucinate, but it is not a classic psychedelic like LSD. Hallucinations usually happen with very high doses, strong concentrates, edibles, or in people who are sensitive to THC or have a risk for mental health issues.
When Hallucinations Happen
High Potency Products: Edibles, dabs, and high-THC vape pens deliver a large amount of THC quickly, which can cause intense sensory changes or mild visual and auditory hallucinations.
Cannabis-Induced Psychosis: High doses can trigger a temporary break from reality called acute psychosis. This includes seeing or hearing things that are not there, severe paranoia, and extreme confusion.
Underlying Risks: People with a family history of psychotic disorders like schizophrenia are much more vulnerable to having hallucinations or long-term mental health effects from cannabis.
Common Signs of Intense THC Reactions
-Sensory distortions (colors look brighter or sounds seem louder)
-Mild visual illusions (moving shapes or patterns)
-Auditory distortions or hearing noises
-Strong panic, fear, or paranoia
-Feeling detached from your body or reality.
So, the stuff is not harmless. You need to be careful with it.
