Recreational Marijuana Up For A Vote Tomorrow In Oklahoma….

I vote no until they get the criminals out of the growing business. Oklahoma has issued over 6200 medical marijuana licenses in Oklahoma and it has invited a criminal element into this state, mostly from China. There have been reports of slavery (forced work without pay), human sex trafficking, murders, illegal drug sales and other crimes associated with these growers. They say half of the licensees and operations are under investigation by the state. Which is going to cost a lot of money. I don’t know why they issued so many licenses. They said it’s 32 times more licenses than all other states combined.

Honestly , as much as I dont like it being made available to kids ( just like alcohol) , regulating it like tobacco is really the only option we have at taking organized crime out of the picture. They need to do the necessary research and develop reasonable tests that the police can use to tell if someone is under the influence or over and accepted legal limit ( and to determine what that limit is).

The medicinal value of cannabis can not be denied and only big pharma and their puppets in congress would be affected by allowing open research on it.

If a gummy helps a sweet lady with arthritis enjoy her day without pain, then bring it on.

@TexChik I don’t like what is going on with the grow centers and the Chinese bringing in more crime.

@cherokeepatti China's time here is short I suspect. Next year when the Trump rallies start rolling and he starts hammering china....People are going to be made aware. The media can not cover Trump because he is all people will tune in to watch

@TexChik I hope it is. This law won’t affect the medical marijuana sales which are legal here.

Its the first step before becoming fully legalized.

Once its fully legalized, criminals will look at other drugs like meth and fentanyl. We seen it here in Canada. Pot was made legal 5 years ago. If anything, its caused the price of pot to bottom out….some prices are down to what they were 40 years ago. Criminals have too much competition now.

The big fears of legalizing marijuana didnt materialize at all.

Crime didnt increase because of it. Minors using it didn’t increase. Peoples lives didnt get ruined from it.

It’ll be fine.

@LunarOrbit We already have meth and fentanyl.
hopefully the government wont screw up weed like they screw up pretty much everything else they come in contact with.

@SheCallsMeCrushDaddy they want it legalized for the tax money. But they are inviting in criminals. Better to let people grow it themselves.

well if it passes at least it will be out in the open where people will have to pay taxes where they don't now.

just remember: Al Capone never spent a day in prison for murder - they got him with tax evasion.

@Pretzel They already have medical marijuana legalized. I think people should be able to grow their own. Remove the middle-man and the criminal element.
Pretzel · 61-69, M
@cherokeepatti that's one way to go. but I doubt a lot of people would be able to grow their own - or wouldn't have the inclination.

I equate it with alcohol. you can make it with yeast and sugar - but people would rather buy it.

@Pretzel should have it as an option then. I think Colorado allows 4 plants per person.
