Never Really Got Them...

As Lemmy used to say..

"Hangovers? I never got them. You have to stop drinking to get them.."

I wholeheartedly subscribed to that, and never really got them, getting not much change out of 2 litres of vodka a day.

A high functioning drinker, you could say...

But, all good things must come to an end...and so did my drinking!

I recall those few minutes, still in bed, just waking up...before I got myself a drink.

Splitting headache.

God, I don't miss that!

Taking Jessica to treatment in Fargo; a five hour drive, and it was," I need a drink! Just one shot...just two shots... just three shots!!!" There's a liquor store, pull over!!!!". Vomits into pail.
I stop at the next gas station and get her water and ice. As I'm handing it to her she's taking a swig from a fifth of vodka in a plastic bottle.
"Where the hell did that come from!", I asked.
"I snuck it in", she answered drunkenly while smiling.
I grabbed the bottle and chunked it into the trash can. Only four hours to go. Oh, this is going to be fun.
