Intoxicated vs. inebriated

I mainly use the latter term without thinking since I’m an alcoholic. But apparently, that’s more accurate for when one is under the influence of alcohol, whereas being intoxicated [i]can[/i] refer to being drunk on booze, but it’s more of a broad term that refers to being under the influence of any substance. Using proper terminology without even trying, lol.
