Anyone know if Lasix affects/lowers blood sugar?

My sister has edema and was prescribed Lasix. But because her diabetes is so sensitive to many factors, she's wary if Lasix (helps lower fluid buildup/edema) will lower her sugar too much.
Any ideas?

( The pharmacist says they didn't believe it would, only a few points maybe. ) but she's still wondering if anyone knows for sure.

I am not a doctor or nurse, just a former EMT who almost went to paramedic school about 20 years ago lol. But Lasix is a diuretic and is prescribed usually to help the kidneys remove excess fluid that can build up in the body due to cardiogenic shock or other reasons the heart is not pumping efficiently. The fact it can result affect blood sugar is probably because the fluid level is reduced, thereby increasing the sugar concentration.

One idea is to try eating more foods that naturally lower risk of diabetes and promoting lower blood sugars..

This would probably require some research/home work, but ive heard good things about chia seeds and zucchini.

@Alisha233 She has type 2, so unfortunately that type is not based on foods you eat, but that the pancreas creates no insulin. But type 2, is often based on reversing it with healthy low carb foods. Thanks 🍁
I take it, but I have never kept track of my blood sugar level. After taking it for years, though, my blood test a couple of months ago showed normal blood sugar.🤔

@Journaling4MeAgain Thanks... Appreciate that.
Do you take it daily, or just if needed? Her doctor told her take only if edema is severe on her foot.. but it's moderate anyway.
"This medicine may cause an increase in blood sugar levels. If you are diabetic and notice a change in the results of your blood or urine sugar tests, check with your doctor. This medicine may make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Use a sunscreen, hat, and protective clothing when you are outdoors."

Lasix is known as a water pill because it reduces edema by making you go to the bathroom a lot!
How will getting her eyes lasered help with blood sugar?

Edit: oops the eye surgery is Lasiks

@AbsolutelyFabulous Right, you were probably thinking of LASIK...the eye corrective surgery.

@AbsolutelyFabulous This was 💯 my first thought.

Lasix can cause a drop in blood pressure, leading to lightheadedness, dizziness, or fainting, especially when standing up quickly
Sadly it might increase blood sugars :(
