Just remembered the time I almost became a Xanax addict

I remember telling a Dr sometime ago that I was feeling burnout, insomnia, and anxiety… with tears and all. He prescribed Xanax! 25 year old me then was foolish enough to take it, but it worked well. He only gave me 3 pills, to take half a pill a day.

When the medication finished, I tried to look for the same Dr, but he wasn’t in. So, I went to a different clinic. That Dr was alarmed and wanted to report the first Dr, saying they can’t simply prescribe Xanax without a proper consultation.

It’s crazy to think that I almost put that Dr out of his profession, or worse, made myself dependent on Xanax. He looked depressed at that time, and I sometimes wondered if he was going through something too. I used to see him regularly at the clinic (for other reasons or just passing by), but after the Xanax incident, I never saw him again. I hope he is doing okay.

One time a doctor prescribed me a muscle relaxer and I didn't take it because I was afraid of getting addicted.

I will never try Xanax because I know I would get addicted.

@SinlessOnslaught Oh, it worked really well. I had insomnia and bad anxiety due to my previous relationship back then. Xanax really helped me. Thank god I don’t need such meds now. If anything, I just take magnesium or green tea to relax.
@BetweenLines I have a friend going through insomnia and anxiety because of a previous relationship. I'm glad the xanax helped you. And I hope the best for my friend.

@SinlessOnslaught The Xanax incident was back in 2013. I left the relationship in 2025. Haha, imagine the amount of Xanax I would have been taking.

You can’t blame him for your addiction he gave you three pills not a whole box

@Birdbox1986 Yea, that was just me being dramatic.. (didn’t have the chance to get to that stage as he went missing from the clinic). But he shouldn’t have given such medication as he wasn’t authorised to do so.

So addictive. As bad as any opiate.
