We have something in common, I also hate meth. I think it's time we start holding junkies accountable for the harm they do to innocent people.

@HobNoblin Well, speed freaks are not renowned for their listening skills or grasp of their actions impacting others...so recovery can require huge amounts of patience and compassion. But anything's possible and some do change selfish ways in time.Criminalizing drugs hasn't worked,so I favor education. On page one? Your first hit of methamphetamine feels friggin' amazing! Hence its addictive potential. Beware.

If someone tests positive for illegal drugs then they are in possession of a controlled substance and should be arrested on the spot. Send all drug users to a huge reservation. They can farm, build towns, manufacture. But, they don't ever leave until they stop using. They get tested weekly, drugs are sure to be smuggled in so it won't be a problem to test them for drugs. Meanwhile it's not a bad existence and they're away from everyone else where they can do no harm. Any violent offenders of course go to prison on that reservation just as they would anywhere else. How functional you are determines if you work a job or stay in a padded cell. Legalize all casual drugs like mushrooms, cannabis anything in that class. Of course if a person is addicted, it will show and they can go to the reservation too. The main thing is we protect those who build and maintain our civilization not those who tear it down.

That's terrible. Very sorry to her it.
I can't imagine anyone who has seen what meth addiction does to a person both mentally and physically ever going near the stuff.
I had a nephew who got on it once. I talked to him about it. He said it reprograms your brain and it doesn't ever go back to the way it was. I would never touch it.

That's a tough road. I hope your sister has a moment of clarity and applies the brakes before things get too spun out of control.
I haven't had a hit in 19 years and just reading this post brought up the taste, smell and tingles that that stuff used to bring...the human brain is odd like that.
In the meantime, stay strong and keep modeling healthy behavior that will help heal your family-some lucky ones do recover.

Wouldn't your sister be near your own age?
There's a point in life where you must become your own person and responsible for your own actions.
I don't like any drugs. Yet I would never consider attempting to control my far older siblings lives.
They are responsible for themselves.

Clearly you understand the situation here. Your first duty is to yourself not to allow this to harm you...You know you cant enable her. And you know she wont quit this until she is ready, which usually means rock bottom.. So keep her at arms length or more. And only offer any help you are willing to when she is ready to accept it..
Your first duty is to yourself..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman thank you. At first I allowed it to upset me. Crying and thinking of the past. But with help I let it go. I’m a different person. I just hope she will get better soon.

What annoys me is, these people make themselves sick, whilst there are people out there that are sick, and just wish to be well,
