Night at the cigar lounge

It's been a while since Joel and I had a date night. His ex-wife took the boys for the night and our daughter stayed with Star. We went to dinner and to the local Blues festival after that we went to the cigar lounge. We go there all the time, even if we can't stay we get most of our cigars there. We've made some good friends there and they appreciate it loyalty.

We had a bottle of peanut butter whiskey and watched the Royals game. We sat with a few of the owner and just talked about the game and usually chat.

There was a few guys we'd never seen there before and it was clear they not a fan of my outbursts.

We've been going to this place for years. They know me and most of the regulars do as well. It's why we keep going by. It's a safe place for me.

My outbursts went to bad tonight but these guys weren't a fan. I could wear them saying things to each other.

Finally one guy told me to shut up or leave or they would make me leave. Before me or Joel had a chance to say anything one of the owners gets up and walks over to them and goes off. Saying I'm one of his preferred customers and if they say one more thing to me or about me they would have to leave and wouldn't be welcomed back. They didn't like this and tried to argue. The owner had enough of them and he made them leave.

This is why I struggle with going to new places. This is also why we keep going back to this lounge.

It was a good night, even if it didn’t feel easy. It was a night that meant something.
