Would your town or city be better or worse off if pokies/gambling, smoke/vape shops and/or bottle/grog/alcohol ships were banned/removed ?
From a community forum on another site, but this issue has global implications for social cohesion...
While we're on a roll with the issue of toxicity of gambling and how pokies should be either banned or venues should take it upon themselves to ditch them and (a) not rely on them for operating revenue plus (b) do the right thing by their social license, why not get rid of smoke and vape shops as well? That said, it could even extend to bottle shops. All of these things are toxic in one or more ways. 😎 Now I've chucked a cat amongst the pigeons of social norms, discuss!
