have you ever taken edibles? what was your experience?

Went out with my friend for a night on the town yesterday. Everything was going great until I had some of his edible candy. Did not feel the effects until 40 minutes to an hour later. We were eating at a restaurant and I started feeling weird. Felt like I was drunk but way worst. Had little control over my body, as if my body and mind were reacting at different speeds. At one point I could not stop chewing and felt like I was gonna choke. On the way back home why on the train, people were having conversations with us. I was still feeling the effects a lot but was still able to communicate. Everything was in slow motion so I am not sure how I looked like to them. Just hoping I did not tell them any personal info, even though I remember most of the things that we talked about. I will never take edibles again and will stick to drinking. I don't like having full control of my mind and body. Some moments I felt like I was gonna lose it. But did not wanna appear crazy in front of people and tried my best to stay calm and normal.

Edibles can be extremely dangerous and scary, it depends on how much you take and the milligrams of thc in the edible. It'll creep up on you. When taking an edible it is best to know your tolerance level.
I live in NY where it is now legal, I also live near a reservation so it is easily accessible here too. I have had them before but only a few times. I think there is a difference between a body high and a head high (I think).
My fiancé has a bad back and a bad knee and only one lung and because he has only one lung he cannot smoke it, so he wanted to get an edible for his knee and back pain. He said it was nightmare and slept for nearly two days, but that was because after he took the first one, he said he didn't feel anything so he took another one. He said he would never take another one again. He hasn't since.

@MamaButterfly what I find weird about many brands of edibles is that they are presented in a way which makes it easy to overdose. a friend of mine ordered these gummies online and one bag had 4 gummies with 250mg each !!!! those i buy are 10mg per gummy so its easy to take just the right amount, I'll even sometime take one plus half of another. but with those other kinds how can someone dose themseves properly, a strong dose for me is 30mg, you would need to split those other ones in eight equal parts !! to be safe, it can take a few days to discover the proper dose for you: one day you take 5mg, see where it gets you. if its wasnt enough the next day you try 10, and so on but never take more in the same evening. THC in large amounts is considered a halucinogen, it can get really heavy if you take too much but when you hit your perfect dose its very pleasant.

They are yes. Where I live, there are any kind of edible you can find from skittles to cookies to coffee and tea. If you take a few skittles or eat a couple cookies without knowing the dosage of how much you are ingesting can be dangerous. I've heard recently that because of the candy like edibles are a target for children.
I honestly wouldn't trust ordering anything online, because you don't know if they are laced with something, like fentanyl or heroin. That is what I have heard.
