Anyone have a root canal with IV sedation?

It's my first root canal and because I have a misaligned jaw that can occasionally trigger vertigo, plus jaw pain, my dentist recommended sedation. There's laughing gas, oral pill, or the deepest relaxing one is through IV. I wonder what experience it is, if anyone has had it?

I recently had root canal. 2 hours in the chair. I suffer with vertigo due to menieres disease. I personally wanted to be conscious throughout in case anything affected my balance. So I just had an injection. In the end all well apart from a sinus issue that's now cleared up.

@OldBrit An injection of a sedative? I wonder if it's similar to IV sedation? I guess with IV, you'll be deeply relaxed but still conscious and the procedure is often not remembered. I get vertigo too .and jaw pain, plus my mouth can't fully open due to a misaligned jaw...so much fun😔 I know ill need sone type sedation but not sure what yet.
