Have you ever had a cracked tooth?

From food or night clenching?

My tooth was sore from clenching too hard about a month ago, and any pain or sensitivity stopped within a week. Now that same tooth is hurting off and on again, from night clenching, but today it's been eight days. I'm getting nervous if it lasts more than another day or two, because it could have a crack.

It's mostly very sensitive to cold, with only a little pain in the day. If you had a cracked tooth, what were the symptoms, and what was the outcome?

Ive had a cracked tooth for almost 6 years now the pain comes and goes, it never gets better and eventually mine got infected... spent 10 days on antibiotics...im getting it removed in 2 days... will have an implant in about 3 or 4 months

@Tminus6453 Do you know how you cracked it? Did you get a fever when it becomes infected?

@Baybreeze I have no idea how i cracked it, i must have bitten on hard candy as i eat those atomic fireballs all the time.... but i also already have two crowns from cracked teeth over the years....i use to chew on ice alot..... i dint really get a fever from the infection but my jaw swole up pretty good and it was painful...if that happens get to a dentist immediately

I have had cracked and broken teeth before. Recently I had three crowns done due to cracked teeth.

@Baybreeze There was actually no symptoms. My dentist found them in X-rays a year ago. She told me it was time to get them done before she had to do root canals too.

One time I had a tooth crack in half horizontally. I was terrified what was going to happen, but she said all I needed was a crown. She was right.

@Musicman Glad you needed just a crown. I really hope this tooth is just inflamed and irritated like before..but if it lasts longer than few more days im going to get it x rayed. Thanks. 🌻
