Feeling so ashamed of my teeth

So I've had jaw pain due to acute TMJ. For twenty years.. I avoided the dentist for fifteen years because of the pain. 😔 I finally saw a dentist last year, no cavities. I've taken pretty good care of my teeth. But I think I'm seeing possible brown matter in the middle of two back teeth. It doesn't hurt but I'm almost certain they're not fillings from years ago.

I'm going to make an appointment Monday but I feel ashamed that this is occurring. I only skipped brushing last year Maybe five days total in a year due to severe TMJ. I truly hope they can clean the tooth and fill it vs. root canal.
It gives me anxiety already even for a regular filling Bec I also have a misaligned jaw, and I'll need breaks to close my mouth every little bit. Just another issue ugh. But I don't want to wait for any pain to begin Bec that can create infection. I'm glad at least I saw this.

@Baybreeze I don't have TMJ but I don't have the greatest teeth. I had to wear braces to close the gaps and now my teeth are starting to seperate... so I do feel embarrassed about my teeth as well, so I feel ya.

@Mindful Oh a little space can be cute... Don't feel embarrassed. It sucks though yes, being self conscious about teeth. When I'm standing close to someone, I try to talk fast or not show my teeth Bec now due to night clenching, I have two chipped teeth in front..not horrible bad but enough you can notice. I need to have those bonded. Oh the fun never ends!!😦😫

Most of mine are broken. I can't afford to go to a dentist. Life in America.

I've had black tartar spots on my molars ever since I had braces at 12-14. They are not very visible but I know about them and there's nothing resonable that can be done about it. You have nothing to be ashamed of.

@CrazyMusicLover Oh maybe I have tartar spots rather than a cavity... I didn't think of that. Do you see a dentist? I appreciate your words🌟

@Baybreeze Yes, here we have a rule that if you skip a yearly check at dentist and then have a cavity next year, you will have to cover it fully out of your pocket because the healthcare insurance won't cover anything. So I go every year. The copay is often already high enough, I'm not risking that I'd have to pay the full price.
