My confusing tooth extraction

So almost 2 months ago I bit into an empanada at work and there was some bone or something in it and it broke my crown on a side front tooth (next to big teeth). The crown was still in place but gum was very painful and swollen. It was over a week before I could get into my dentist and he told me that my crown and tooth underneath was inot salvageable and the only option was extraction. I don't qualify for implants so I sent was getting a partial instead. My dentist has pulled all my back teeth on top and bottom over the years but for some reason he didn't want to pull this tooth and referred me to an oral surgeon. So when I got to the office, I was very nervous and had taken a cbd/thc delta 8 gummy because they told me they didn't use gas- I have always used nitrous whenever I have gotten any dental work done, since I was a kid. Well this dentist was very mean and laughed at me and made fun of me for wanting nitrous. He told me he couldn't understand why my own dentist wouldn't pull my tooth and why he didn't put another crown on it instead of pulling it! So I was stoned and very confused as to whether the tooth could be saved after all and maybe I was making a big mistake in getting it pulled. I was trying to ask questions and then the dentist absolutely went off on me and said my dentist referred me to him because he didn't want to deal with me! He said I could shut up and let him pull the tooth or he could refuse the work altogether and have me escorted out the door!! Absolutely no compassion for my anxiety at all. I kept apologizing and started crying and said I didn't mean to be a bother. The gummy had me absolutely stoned and then he made me pay a lot extra and he gave me nitrous after all, two shots and yanked the tooth out like a pro. I felt nothing!! I just feel like I got on his nerves so bad and that maybe the tooth could have been saved after all and another crown attached. I was supposed to go back to my dentist tomorrow to make sure my partial fit right but when I called to make the appointment, the nurse who told me to come in acted like she had no clue what I was talking about and said "oh, so the oral surgeon decided to pull it after all?"....everyone was telling me something different and I'm just really sad and confused. Just needed to vent.

I'm sorry this happened. I have major anxiety as well about the dentist. I have TMJ pain in my jaw often so I've avoided going for many years. It is very normal to have anxiety at the dentist, I'm sorry they laughed🙁
I have pain in a top tooth for years off and on , and now it's every other day. I made an appointment to finally go in but then got in an accident last week so couldn't. I am going to call tomorrow to get it assessed..I'm so nervous. Ughhh

@Coralmist I'm sorry- I highly advise buying a Delta 8 THC/CBD gummy at a vape store- it really helped my nerves a lot! Plus the nitrous!
Often a tooth will break at an angle and will not be repairable.

Happened to me while eating a bean burrito. Had to have the remains extracted and now I need an implant (or a bridge).

Of note, I just had a different oral surgery extraction of an old back molar that had a rare root cavity. I chose to stay awake and the sound of him breaking the tooth in half was an interesting experience, but overall it was a rather painless extraction.

And find a new dentist....

@Threepio what is it with Mexican food lately having hard stuff in it that breaks teeth! Ugh!! Sorry you had to go through it too. Have you considered a partial? It's a lot cheaper than a bridge or implant.
