How long do you delay general medical or specialist medical (like dental) treatment because of cost?

I haven't been to see dentist in two years but need to as I've got some issues. I'm not a fan of medical stuff and never go to see Gp's regularly though I should be more on top of dental.

I don't have dental cover under any health insurance because it's obscenely expensive.

How do you manage it?
