Abscesses are no fun. I've had several in my life so far. The worst abscess that I ever had was my very first one. I woke up one day, had this bulge on the side of my face, pushed on it and this nasty tasting white stuff came up out and then at some point the tooth fell out not long after.
Fast forward about 18 - 20 years or so, and I have this incredible pain on the side of my face right where that abscess originally was.
As it turns out the root was still there, and it turned into a cyst. So even though I drained it, I never had it properly taken care of at a dentist or oral surgeon.

@Gemma90 dentist had nothing to do with it. I'm on medication that literally destroys your teeth. I've been on the same medication for 24 years. Unfortunately the medication is what controls my seizures, basically I don't have any seizures as long as I take the medication as prescribed, ie: I don't miss any doses.
I can switch medications sure, but if I have a seizure while switching meds, I can't drive for 6 months and will probably lose my job. So I'm in a catch 22 now.
