I have run a home based waxing business now for 3 years, I offer all kinds of waxing from top lip to fully body. I used to only do pubic waxing for women but have recently decided to do it for men too because i was asked about this service. Intially it was fine, its a bit more difficult and time consuming but ive got the hang of it now. Sometimes guys become aroused during a wax which is something i was warned about during training but it doesnt bother me it actually makes it easier to wax because the skin is stretched. Id say it probably has happened to at least a third of the men ive waxed so far. I know erections can occur at random times, because of nerves or maybe because the penis is being moved and touched in order to get all the hairs. If it happens i just carry on as normal or if they apologise i say something like its fine you dont need to apologise.

I had a client in today who had never been before. I middle aged guy for a full brazillian wax. I started and quickly he became aroused, he said oh erm covering up, not thinking i said oh dont worry its not a big deal it happens sometimes. He replied back saying not a big deal i thought i was quite well endowed. I didnt really know what to say and tried to laugh it off saying i didnt mean like that. A few moments later he was clearly fully erect and said do you like holding that big thing? I said excuse me? He said you handle it so well etc and carried on making inappropriate comments. Eventually i said im sorry but im not being made to feel this uncomfortable and terminated the waxing. He demanded a refund which i was not willing to give him. He has since written a horrible review about me on my website. I feel so vulnerable now and im not sure if i should carry on offering this service to male clients.

Maybe it was jusy a one off horrible person bit it has really badly affected me.

Men like that are horrible and ruin things for the rest of us. You should never have to deal with anything like that.
Simply ban him and resume service for everyone else. It's not fair that well behaved men should suffer because of one inappropriate douchebag.

You dealt with it appropriately, if a little slowly... in future, it might help if you were a bit faster on the ball (pun unintentional).

Reassure him that erections can be common for some men, then end further discussions along those lines unless it relates to the procedure or aftercare.
If that guy wants another appointment, you should tell him he's no longer welcome. But if others never caused a problem, there's no reason to stop offering the service unless it happens more often and you feel like it's too much.

ugh that is AWFUL i am so sorry youve experienced this. can you respond to the review explaining what happened and why he wasnt refunded? i dont know how that works

i think when i went to get a massage after a car accident there was a sign that sexual harassment wont be tolerared. my memory is vague. maybe theres something you can post about erections being normal but harassment isnt tolerated and is non refundable. im not familiar with your businiess but im sure theres laws in place for your safety and the safety of your business

im very sorry this happened 🖤

@Frostcloud yes im going to look into adding a waxing etiquette onto my website and a little waiver to sign before i take on any new clients

The best thing to do is reply to his horrible review and give the details about his behaviour in your reply. Most men are genuinely nice guys that will not behave in this appalling way.
BigGuy2 · 31-35, M
@tallpowerhouseblonde i said the same
I would say do what makes you feel comfortable.

If that means no more males, then that's no more males.

If that means no more NEW male clients, and you continue doing the ones that you have felt comfortable for, then you can continue doing that.

It's all up to you and what you feel comfortable doing!

Also, maybe add a sign, or a waiver, or something, which says, if you start making comments that the waxers feels are sexual, then the waxer can stop at any time and refuse all refunds, or something like that.

I would say most people take reviews with a grain of salt.

You did good.

Under similar circumstances I may have automatically given him a refund or a part refund as a way to close a bad experience and cut short additional conversation with him. Not fair, but more important than the money it was a situation where getting him to leave ASAP and never come back was as important.
I think you need to screen clients better. I wouldn't terminate the ones that act appropriately. I wouldn't accept any new ones however. "Unless your willing to do this with your grandmother sitting watching do not think I will do this"
He like many men likely confused you with a prostitute, given the similarity of set up to a massuse, and their reputation. I'd recommend not offering services in the crotch region to men unless they become long established customers you are familiar with. I sure wouldn't and I'm a guy, I know I'd still be targeted like that.

It's a paraphilia, putting people into a position like that. I know a guy from a philosophy site who did alot of jail time for exposing himself like this in places where he really shouldn't while fondling himself. Multiple charges over the years, it isn't a easy urge to stop.
Definitely a horrible person. If you do offer it, state upfront you are not a sex worker and reserve the right to terminate without refund if you feel uncomfortable due to unacceptable behavior.

Ugh, I hope that the only negative review won't have that much influence on people. Do you have any chance to reply to the review? I saw something like this on some sites.

Ive had this service a couple of times. It is a bit awkward but with keeping conversation topics on everything but the task at hand.

You have a home based business and you’re having men there while you’re alone while you wax their intimate area.

It doesn’t sound like a good idea to me 🤷🏼‍♀. I wouldn’t risk it.
BigGuy2 · 31-35, M
In response, you should have outlined the comments he made to you
