What’s good for minimizing after surgery scars?
I’m getting major surgery next month. The cut will be from the top of the stomach going all the way down to my lower abdomen.

Oof that sounds major.
Part of this is just legitimately talk with the surgeon for advice and make sure you've got prescriptions for the medical-grade stuff for scar reduction. I think silicon gel is the standard stuff, as well as some sort of steroidal cream. Good luck and I hope the surgery improves your quality of life.
