I think it's all about personality and someone's hobbies
and if they are the ideal best friend, and just let the friendship solidify, it's up them to decide if they like you more
the weirdo film director John Waters, had an excellent piece of advice, it's all about their bookshelves. If you don't like what's on their bookshelf, don't ever sleep with them.

You just need two people who, understand that most bonds and relationships are due to selfishness
and it's a long wait to find truly neat and pleasant people out there

Define older. Well in this life someone who isnt trying to con me or steal from me or live off me is a good start.
Other than that this is probably not realistic but I my dream partner would be someone who can hangout for a weekend or maybe a week then be cool while I return to hermit mode for a month. I dont think thats qualifies as a quality but there.

I think you can solve everything by talking to someone for 70-100 hours
and most people pass the flaky test/quality friend test
if they get that far

what I wouldn’t base my decision on is beauty . I wouldn’t base it on sex. I would basically want to find someone that accepts me and I accept them by having a connection.

and we can deal with a whole range of levels with liking people's looks
And well every friendship of quality seeks its own level
and you can try to have more best friends in your life too, and maybe the looks or personality or hobbies, simply knock things out of the park.

Have those Duncan Hines-like cheesecakes from the cake mix pouches [Royal was one!] disappeared from Restaurants now, and its only real New York cheesecakes now? and usually frozen like a brick!
