One of my work besties is driving me nuts

She is the one who convinced me to go out with the New Guy (turned out to be a disaster), and now she's convinced that a mutual coworker (male) has the hots for me. 🫩

Said mutual coworker is on vacation in his home state of Missouri right now, and he sent me a couple of pics of him in a river, fly fishing.

Work Bestie said "He so has a thing for you."

I replied, "No, I assure you we're just friends. He is only attracted to women who look like Barbie." (This is true- he has crushes on two women we work with, both are skinny and blonde lol)

Work Bestie replied, "He only talks to you about them because it gives him an excuse to talk to YOU. Besides, you're Goth Barbie."

Flattering, but no, baby. 🤣 He and I do have a really strong intellectual connection, and he always says I'm the only woman he "can really hold a deep conversation with", but he's definitely not into me any other way. If he was, I doubt he'd be gushing to me about his lil work crushes lol.

Work Bestie is going through a midlife crisis right now I think; she is seeing a new guy recently, and seems to think that I also should have a fling with someone. 😒 I'm not feeling it. I have horrible luck with men, and I think it's best if I just keep to myself and live out my Solitary Witch life alone. 🧹🔮🪬🪄
