@GokuGirl: pick something inconsequential: I always think "Hi, I'm X, nice to meet you" is a bit formal, a bit too telegraphed that from this point forward you are chatting them up. 'Nice sneakers' (for example) on the other hand is off the cuff, but you've made the opening: if he's interested he'll follow that up. If not it's easy to slip away :)

Just relax and try and be yourself. That will usually not only work better but will attract the attention of someone who actually is attracted to who you are for real. :)
