By choice. I had to be honest to myself and my family: I'm really not cut out for the family life, let alone having and maintaining relationships of any sort that are healthy. I'm just too spirited, occupied with other things, and have insatiable wonderlust. Then, if I was tied down to someone, I get addicted to them and any ounce of care they give me. Paid the price for that (modern day slavery, credit was destroyed, losing my vehicle, homelessness and lost my pets) because I was love blind to users and trusted them. So....I'm sure there are wonderful people out there but I don't think I'm in a good situation to have a relationship again nor am I the right person to have something like that.

@SilentObZerver not necessarily because of reciprocation. Even when people I generally like, normally probably would date, and they make it known I caught their eye...I freak out. Not all giddy but like I saw Jason Voorhees out my window. My brain literally said, "one person screwed up your life, lied to you for four years, tried to slander you in public...so anyone so much gives you a wink. Run!" Yeah, I'll get butterfly feelings maybe but I can go back into survival mode really quick from that. I'm no good for it.
Plus, I'm physically unwell and if I somehow managed to have a healthy relationship...I couldn't put that on someone else.
