I just had an encounter with an @nal Walmart employee

I've been going to this Walmart for years without a problem.

There's an area with all the shopping carts that leads into the store. You can't walk through because of all the carts, but I just wanted to grab one before I went into the real entrance.

Some cart caddy was like, excuse me, excuse me. That's not an entrance. I said I just want to grab a cart. He's like, no you have to go all the way around, so I said, ohhhh kaaaayyy in one of these types of voices and walked away.

What a d0uche.

I used to work at a Walmart. Sometimes I collected carts. If I saw you do that I would have broke out the paddle.

Kidding. I would have smiled and said hi, how are you.

I would have smiled, turned around and left. Then brought my business to a place that appreciates it.

A lot of those employees are challenged.

@MsSwan Grocery cart round up was a terrible part of my job in a grocery store 50 years ago. In the summer at the end of your shift the on shift boss would give you an extra hour or two if you stayed and rounded up the carts, And our store wasn’t near as big as a Walmart. The other bonus was they handed you coke out of the cooler and you got to take your tie and apron off. When you were doing it you’d round them up and hang around a bit. Some old lady (probably way younger than I am now) would flip you shit about something I had nothing to do with. To protect my $3.00 hour job my only answer was, “Yes ma’am.” And Smile. Or tell her who was the shift manager and my name. Which usually resulted in the reply, “I KNOW who you are, who your momma is and the managers are.” Then whoever the manager was would wink at me and fuss at me a bit, then go back inside. The old lady would be watching from inside. So, please be kind to the cart guys, they don’t wake up and say “I really hope Ms. Swan shows up, I’m going to ruin her day.” It just works out that way sometimes. Please be kind to me, I’m heavily medicated. I had a flashback. 😉
Some people do their jobs to the letter because they’re afraid if they don’t they might lose them
@Ghostinthemachine Well, he's going to lose it anyway if customers start complaining about being hassled.

Given the typical clientel at Walmart, That might be the reason. Some of them are so bitter.

Why did you go out there and not in the store to grab a cart? That’s like their area 😅
@YoMomma 🤦🏻‍♀
YoMomma ·
@MsSwan why were you being weird invading their personal work space..? 😅 oh well

I would have been tempted to do my Steve Martin impression...

oldguy73 · 70-79, M
a profane remark would be the correct response
@oldguy73 I should've just ignored him and took the cart, lol.
Tumbleweed · F
I despise that place
Thatsright · 61-69, M
@Tumbleweed I’m a people watcher and like a good bargain. But I understand. Someone close to me doesn’t care for it. So it’s a good escape for me.
Walmart gets the finger.
