It's a totally stupid trend that's supposed to save you a few seconds, unfortunately now a days most people can't drive or park straight much less park in reverse.

@Anielka I prefer the pull through technique. Find 2 spaces back to back that are empty and pull into the one facing the lane, so you're ready to pull out forward. you can always find this in a large lot.
