How much is milk down there?

@SethGreene531 I go to Braum’s dairy store and buy milk because it’s an Oklahoma product and it tastes better. It’s $4.69 a gallon but used to be about $2.99 maybe a year ago. I was buying 2 half-gallon jugs for $4 because they were easier to pour and sent the boy in with a $5 and he had to come back and get more money, that was back in the spring. More than $5 with sales tax now. I didn’t look at the other store’s prices but did for creamer and it’s gone up a lot too.

@cherokeepatti Yeah I've seen similar in places over the years. Ironically, they were dairy communities too. I've paid about $ 6 in the past for 2 half gallons.

@cherokeepatti Braum's process their milk differently. They're worth the price.

@Crazywaterspring Yes I took a tour of the processing plant. The tour guide said that the government requires a certain amount of milk solids (proteins) in all milk sold commercially. The other brands add dry milk powder to get it to the proper level. Braum’s uses an evaporation process to remove water to get the right proportion instead. Someone told me that he hated the milk they sell in other stores, that it tastes bitter. I told him about them adding powdered milk and powdered milk has MSG in it to get people to drink it because the flavor is funky. Braum’s is the only milk that I buy.
