Might be time to buy chickens.

@MrBrownstone The price of feed though. And they limit us to 4 chickens per back yard too. I’d have at least 7 or 8, there are days that some don’t lay eggs.

@MrBrownstone I cook a lot of food from scratch. I don’t eat processed foods that have gluten in them so I make breads, muffins, pancakes, waffles and other things with eggs besides the eggs that I eat.

@cherokeepatti 23.00 for 40 lbs of cracked corn and 19.00 for a bag of chicken scratch. It is cheaper to buy the eggs as you have stated

@Fungirlmmm The price of hay has tripled this year and the price of dairy keeps going way up.

@cherokeepatti Oh yes. My daddy has a farm. It is awfully expensive.

@Fungirlmmm my uncle planted Milo & corn for the chickens and millet hay so they could pick at the seeds in the winter and not get bored. The price of dairy, egg and crimes will go through the roof by the winter.

@cherokeepatti Thats awesome. My dad doesn't really like the chickens but they run all over the fields because he loves my mom and chickens make her happy. I am like my dad in that i I woulld lijke to eat a few of the stubborn roosters.

@Fungirlmmm Roosters tend to fight if there is more than one and they would end up on the table because of that. We would have more baby chicks every spring and you never knew how many would be roosters or hens so had to wait and get the roosters.
