When I just don't care about something but people will accuse me of jealousy so I just act interested.

Just trying to prevent people from projecting their emotions on me. Basically just trying to prevent myself from getting annoyed so I can protect everybody's peace.

Ah yes, pretending to give a shit because people want you to give a shit. It's a bit like having to engage in an argument about something that you don't care about, just because the other person is determined to argue.
