I can't stand seeing tourists in my area

Nothing personal with them, it's not their fault for ending up here, but only foreigners I want are refugees and immigrants. Maybe some international students and volunteers too, depends. Tourists just don't fit this place.

Remember how surreal it was in 2020, when all the major touristic cities emptied out?

@Elessar The one time they looked inviting and worth visiting

@MethDozer Hospitality level: if we find you around and not confined between 4 walls we'll fine you and bring you to court 🥲

@Elessar Yeah, I'd have been so arrested along with assault to a police officer charge if that was here. We had lock downs but you were still allowed outside. Which I am damn glad for. A lot of places lost their damn minds.

@Elessar yesss although it's like this in the islands during winter, lockdown or not. You would not believe it's the same place as the one you're visiting during summer.
It was so surreal having to send a message to the government to go out for a walk, at least in the cities, in the villages people did whatever because they would not get caught and even if they did, there's a sense of solidarity because everybody knows each other.
But walking around with nobody in sight and seeing nature taking over was so surreal!

@MethDozer Bear in mind, it was Wuhan level bad here,we literally had tents out of the hospitals because not even the halls or corridors had any more room left for patients. In some towns virtually everyone had at least one relative or friend either hospitalized or dying, or even dying at home if you were in Lombardy; there wasn't much resistance to the lockdown until relatively late (end of April / May), at least here in the north.

@Elessar I get that, along with rypically being more densly populated in a lot of areas.

@MethDozer And having a much older population, especially those first-hit towns that had numbers dramatically worse than even packed metropolises
