Tbh no matter what's being said, the USA's right wing is really mild compared to what's out there for the rest of us.

I mean some of them even support gay rights and are openly irreligious.

I remember just 6 years ago when I was in high school, being an atheist was almost unheard of and only a minority claimed the word "feminist". I'm not even going to talk about the treatment of lgbt+ and immigrants. My chemistry professor called me Bakunin for being open about these issues and questioning very common "jokes" and what not.
And now they act like they are afraid of "cancel culture" and "woke people". We are just getting started. It's just what they thought was "normal" for all their lifetime being questioned now. Imagine living in fear of being yourself for all these years. Like even just for wearing something. I'm still very alert whenever I see men dressed in a more "feminine" way in public transportation, for example. I think what if someone attacks them out of the blue?
Some people think just because someone won't tolerate insults from them and will talk back, they have their freedoms taken away.

Yeah but there's always a chance for the right wing to become more extreme, their words are worrying sometimes. They think they just say "words" but it more comes out as thinly veiled threats. It's kind of like a lover who insults you but you can't prove they'll do anything so they get away with it.

What I'm afraid of is the right winged tactic of trojan horses. This is just an example but I like to think of TERFS, those anti trans "feminists" that espouse liberal ideals but are strangely far right winged. Underneath, they're really right winged trojan horses. Their whole group is based off of anti trans rhetoric while also getting the moderate vote. There's other examples, many politicians are like that.
