We love to go charity shopping (thrifting)

My fiance and I went today. I got some clothes, some cd's and a necklace. Whilst we were in one shop my fiance was chatting to the shop assistant and I joined the chat. He enquired about a rosary because I collect them. As I love to pray the rosary. We had already purchased a coat and a t-shirt. Then the lady gave it to him saying its been sitting in the shop a long time you take it as a gift. I thought that it was a lovely gesture.

Oh wow, that was really sweet of her to do that. I’ve been shopping at two discount stores today, everything in the bins except clothing items marked down to 50 cents today at both stores.

@RubiesandButterflies I think it was worth the gas for the trip up there. I also stopped at Winco on my way home and bought some groceries.

@cherokeepatti I'm not familiar with Winco coz I'm in the UK is it a discount store?

@RubiesandButterflies It’s a grocery store where the employees are invested in it. It has a lot of good prices depending on what you buy. I go there to get chicken, eggs, bulk groceries from bins, produce, spices, and some pantry items. It beats Aldi stores on quite a few items.

@cherokeepatti that's great we have aldi here and walmart is called Asda here. I shop there but online. We have heron foods also which is mainly frozen food but the prices are good.

@RubiesandButterflies Walmart has OK prices on some pantry items but they sure aren’t the best place to buy groceries. Between going to Aldi & Winco and going to the discount store I’m not buying near as much at Walmart as I used to. I hear their sales are going down here in the U.S.

@cherokeepatti I see I find them the cheapest here.

@RubiesandButterflies They used to be a lot cheaper than now. Part of the problem is shoplifting causes prices to increase. Whatever is stolen most will rise the most in prices. Another problem is corporate greed.

@cherokeepatti yes that makes sense. Shoplifting increases at this time of year too.
