Why do you people in the USA have so much blind and blinkered love for Amazon?
It's very divisive here and isn't the 'darling' it's treated like in your country.

It's a good question. I think it's totally about convenience for most along with impulse buying online. But for some it's almost essential. I'm more than an hour's drive from any type of retail store and more for a mall. A lot are farther than that. Driving a few hours for socks is pretty much a non-starter.

I think it got its foot in the door with COVID and 2 day delivery.
But it and WalMart are probably responsible for more small business closures than we'd care to know.
