Cool

@eyeno They have a spring to them when you sit down in them and are very comfortable to sit on. We’d have visitors on the farm and the adults would pull these chairs up and sit in the shade and have a good long visit.

My grandparents had those. I still remember sitting down and getting my legs fried on the hot metal!
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@4meAndyou They can be cooled down quickly with a garden hose. I got burned on metal park slides. If I had to do it all over again I would bring a container of baby powder and powder it up so sweat wouldn’t make my legs stick.

My mom had something similar except they were formed from slats of spring steel. Comfy as the seat and back were flexible.

@kodiac Those are great too. The water drains from them easily.

@Heartlander a ceramic dish would be good, they are easier to clean too
@cherokeepatti Yes, and thanks. I actually have bronze dish type in the yard by the back fence and under a Magnolia tree where birds gather. A tree area, home to a variety of birds and squirrels. A mulberry tree on the neighbor's side seems to be the big attraction.
I love the ceramic and bronze dishes and they would work well on the deck also. 21 to 24" diameter and a depth of 3 inches or so at the center would be ideal, and save a lot of effort :) Bronze would blend well with a pigeon planter statue, but the ceramic and glass ones come with brilliant colors and designs. I searched for that a few years ago but couldn't one that large. Time to look again.

Now is the time to buy.
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@MrBrownstone Yeah you could put them in the trunk and take them to the lake or to a fishing spot or for extra seating for a 4th of July gathering or barbecue etc. That was a good thing about them.

@cherokeepatti Etsy has woven lawn chairs.
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@MrBrownstone Yes some online stores are still selling some for $30 each.

I hope you do it. 🙂
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@Musicman Nothing stopping me. Seriously having been going places and spending any money and it’s built up a bit. Need to get new glasses and insurance doesn’t pay for all of that. Also want to switch cable/internet companies and it will cost some for the new receiver box (could rent but buying it will pay for itself in less than a year) and the hookup charge is $100. So why not buy those chairs. The boy will love them sitting around the fire pit I’m sure. I told him if I ordered them online that I would need someone *hint-hint* to assemble them for me. He’s really good at assembling things.

@cherokeepatti That's good news. I am sure he will really enjoy all of that. I hope you do too.

@Musicman I’m also looking for a birdbath with a solar fountain. I might order one from Home Depot. If a birdbath has a fountain it draws more birds to it, they love the bubbling splashing sounds is one reason why.
