is it just me,

or are thrift stores getting expensive?

i saw a jacket priced at 24$, i can get that for brand new in a regular store.

some things are still worth it, like finding rly rare and interesting pieces you can’t just get anywhere, but it’s slowly starting to lose its charm for me..

Yes I've noticed that for a couple of years now. However it does depend on the town/city. I recently went to one city and the pants were $1. Everything was cheap. I think the area I live in now is getting too rich.

Anymore it's what it takes for them to get ends to meet. We have all kinds of conveniences and luxuries that are more affordable than ever, but that doesn't matter much when the cost of necessities has been skyrocketing.

Yeah that’s happening it seems. Even the goodwill here is more expensive than it had been.

Yeah for clothing it's pretty expensive. Luckily on sundays i can buy things for a dollar that are good brands near me. Otherwise, i wouldn't bother. Check if there's days that things are on sale at goodwill around you
they do Wednesdays every tag 50% off, except one color (and ofc nearly everything is somehow that one color) but it’s still such a hit or miss. maybe i need to find a better one.. 🥹

im not even looking for any specific brands, just pieces that are rare and interesting and natural fibers like cotton, linen, wool.. real clothes, not synthetics.. @empanadas
I heard they sometimes have sales on the weekend.

I definitely wouldn’t be surprised.

Capitalism and consumerism is starting to fall apart
yeah.. moving so many times have taught me how stuff was just stuff and easily replaceable.. i try not to collect things i don’t use..

but on a side note, i rly want companies to just go back to making fully cotton and linen/natural fibers clothing.. @ScreamingFox

@deathfairy yes, make stuff that lasts again.
