@DanielsASJ actually most of the minerals in Ukraine are in the parts Russia is occupying, which Trump is ready to let Russia keep.

Ukraine does have some of the most fertile farmland around, it's wheat feeds large parts of the rest of the world

@Punches prices rise. wages rise. If we have growth (wages rise faster than prices) and we get better off. Tariffs are not going to result in growth ever.

Besides, suppose he did pull some magic trick and all was fixed. Who is to say the next president won't screw everything up?

Trump is good at sounding convincing and swaying his followers but a lot of what he wants to do just isn't practical.

Like with anything, once a problem is created, it is never solved, just rearranged.

@Punches The manufacturing sector was destroyed over the course of 60+ years. No one said the problem would be solved overnight. But there is already trillions in foreign investment being made in the US.
