I Should have Went Shopping Early This Morning, WalMart Was Full Of Geriatrics This Afternoon..

That’s what happens after 3 days of rain, cold and wind and then it’s sunny, warmer, no wind and dry

I drove to a city an hour and a half away from here yesterday. Usually a Sunday drive includes light traffic. However yesterday was the first day in months that it got to 70F and clear skies. The roads were jammed and I was half an hour late.

@hippyjoe1955 I could have done my shopping on the first but it takes at least twice as long plus there are screaming kids or kids riding on the handicapped scooters creating chaos and all of that. I avoid shopping on the first too many people. They used to come into Walmart at 11:30 p.m. and get groceries and pay with food stamps and right as the clock struck midnight a lot were checking out. Now Walmart closes at 11 so it’s even more people on he first early morning

Hey i was in and out in no time
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@MarineBob A lot of the older people would park their cart and start looking over at everything and I would have to ask if they could move their carts to get round them. It was as busy as weekends and I try to void weekend shopping at Walmart

Dont go in at midnight you will get all the tweakers and drunks. And maybe a couple of new dads frantically looking for that special pacifier.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Adrift Oh I Used to work as a greeter. They would come in during the afternoons till late night. They close the stores at 11 p.m. now

Need to go shopping? Be out of the house by nine. Hit the stores and be back home by noon. Always be polite and pleasant to retail workers.

Fewer blue hairs, feral children and untrained emotional support mutts.

What is Geriatrics?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@nobodyishome Old People
Musicman · 61-69, MVIP
That's why I like going after dark in the evening. They are all home watching TV.
@Musicman Yes, however that would mean that it's ai based and would pass Turing's test, named after the WW II era mathmatician who designed the computer that broke Enigma, Benedict Cumberbatch portrayed him in a recent movie.
Musicman · 61-69, MVIP
@NativePortlander1970 Oh it's definitely AI.
@Musicman Definitely
They usually do the earlier shopping where I live, running the batteries out on the scooters, and then not plugging them back in to charge
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@NativePortlander1970 Some people will leave those scooters in the parking lot, rain or shine.
@cherokeepatti And super cold or heat, I see it all the time. However our local walmart has their cart tenders stay in the breezeways on both sides to retrieve them if they don't see them being rode back in, and three other stores don't allow them outside the store, only two other stores besides walmart allows them outside, but their cart tenders don't pay attention, those are the two I always see abandoned in the lots.
