Buying NON Amernican. (from Canada)
I just ordered a European laptop (Clevo). Bit of a pain getting my credit card company to accept the overseas transaction, but now that it's gone through, delivery time is forecast as about four days !!!

I haven't bought anything new as of recent, be it made in Canada or anywhere else for that matter.
And the majority of what I've got in the past few years I got from thrift stores and secondhand shops or as gifts from close friends.

@Sidewinder Nothing wrong with that. At present I'm using three fairly ancient laptops, none of them bought new; all, with Windows deleted and Linux Mint installed. The new one will have Mint installed at source. (Actually Windows 3.0 wasn't too bad :).)
