Is there anything that you won't settle for second best when it comes to buying a product?

For example, I won't buy cheap hand or electric tools. I also won't buy cheap clothes! My wife can't buy cheaper makeup, I guess it irritates her skin and cheap earrings will infect her ears. What are some things that you won't settle on second best?

Ham
Accommodation - I won't risk some shady shit or bed bugs

Just a note: I don't believe the price always corresponds with quality, therefore I often go for a cheaper product even if I probably shouldn't. I'd say I usually go for median.

@CrazyMusicLover I have a friend that owns a liquor store and he told me that a lot of cheap alcohol, is 100% the same as the expensive counterpart. For example, Keystone light, is brewed identical to Coors light. There is no difference between the two, other than the price.

@WizardofOz Another thing is the taste. For example, just because you buy expensive cheese, chocolate or coffee, it doesn't mean you'll be able to appreciate it if you're used to different kinds and flavours. There's a lot of talk in Europe about double quality of products made for the western and eastern market and some dude tested Coca-Cola. The western version has sucrose in it, the eastern has high fructose corn syrup which is believed to be of lower quality. Yet some people are way too used to high fructose corn syrup and don't even like the western version because it's not sweet enough for them.

@CrazyMusicLover I think I have heard that fructose corn syrup is actually banned in some countries. Have you heard that?

@WizardofOz I never heard about it but I'm reading that no country banned it yet. Just that some artificial ingredients normally found in US Coca-cola are banned in Europe.
