Generally, with men's clothes, more expensive usually means better quality and longer lasting. I don't spend a lot of money on clothes, but I don't cheap out on them.

I love eating, so cheaping out on food makes me feel poor. That being said I still try to be thrifty.

I've been braless since 1979. I must have saved thousands of dollars by now.
The dollar store Windex, shampoo, toilet paper and laundry detergent are the same as the kinds you pay six times as much for, though the paper towels are never, ever soft.
