Why do people go crazy over attractive good looking people but end up settling for average looking people?

Not saying it’s a bad thing being with an average looking person.
My older brother used to go crazy over Britney Spears back then. He said he wants to marry a girl that looks liked her but he settled for an average woman but she is beautiful and very good to him.
Same with my other brother.
My girl pals and I went crazy over Taylor Lautner, Channing Tatum and Brat Pitt! Whooo weeee! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
But we end up dating average looking guys instead.
My gorgeous cousin prefers average guys and is happily married to one. She is happy that’s all it matters. Him too.

You don’t understand what? That your cousin prefers average guys, or people find celebrities attractive (because generally they are, more so than the average person, that’s why they are a celebrities)? Most people who don’t have movie star looks, find someone more on their own level, and what is attractive to one, may not be attractive to another. Some average looking people become more attractive as you get to know their personality. Attraction isn’t always about looks, although it plays a part.
