I kind of wonder what they would think

I am thinking of getting a new swimsuit for this summer. It kind of got me curious what would women from the 1800s would think of our swimsuits in 2025. I see pictures of what they use to wear back then they don't even look like a swimsuit at all. I think the earliest one piece was in the early 1900s. Then the first bikini was around 1930 or 40 I believe. What would they think of our swimsuits of today?

On the Isle of Wight, just south of mainland Britain, there is Osborne House where Queen Victoria spent many years when she was widowed.
Osborne Bay, below the grounds of the house, is a quiet sheltered bay in the Solent. Victoria has a bathing machine. In essence it was a wooden shed on wheels and would be lowered into the sea until part full of water, and then pulled out again when she had bathed. Not sure but it probably required horse power to pull out.

That was the later 1800s.
Not appropriate to see more than the face and hands of a female !

Have often wondered if she actually wore ANYTHING inside her bathing machine !

@emmasfriend some YouTube video I see there was private area's for the women and men. So the women really didn't have to wear anything this was before swimsuits
