I was in a mainstream supermarket (Tesco) last week for over an hour while I ate my lunch, and I counted up the number of women I saw wearing skirts. I must have seen over several hundred women in there doing their shopping.
Total number of women wearing skirts? One. (And she looked like some business rep grabbing a bite for lunch.)
This is not untypical, even in warmer weather. Women simply prefer not to wear skirts for everyday wear. They’re reserved for special occasions (parties, weddings, etc)
@Glossy My wife prefers skirts, or dresses (often one of mine). Of late she has discovered skorts and, with cosy tights, they are her preferred winter wear.
@Glossy It seems to be true. Even in the summer I don't see many women with skirts on during the week. Maybe a few in the local department store working.
