I Have Worn A Very Short Skirt

Wearing our skirts as short as possible was a game 1960s schoolgirls played with the teachers, to see how much we could get away with. A girl with who pushed things too far would be seen shuffling on a sore bum having had a good dose of the slipper or even (in my case once) the cane! But it didn't stop us playing the game even though the consequences could be painful! What little fools for fashion we were!

I suppose the nearest we boys got to this in school was ties not done up, shirt tails out, or shoes not clean all which could earn you a slippering but nothing like you girls got it for teasing boys!!

The actual offence was being untidy, one warning then to the front for the slipper

@samueltyler2 We got the slipper for being untidy too, that included ties not done up properly. Having our skirts too short was an additional offence that only we could commit.

@Sharon I get the feeling the teachers simply wanted the opportunity to spank students, a power play.

@samueltyler2 Not all teachers but I'm sure you're right in many cases. Far too many headteachers treat the school like their personal empire and the students as peasants to do their bidding. They forget they're there to provide a service.

@samueltyler2 CP was banned in UK state ("public") school in 1986 so I doubt that still goes on. There are still a lot of petty dictators employed as headteachers though.
